Job Description nThe Future Talent Program features Cooperative (Co-op) education that lasts up to 6 months and will include one or more projects. Co-op students will be part of a highly collaborative and innovative scientific culture with the ultimate goal of learning new biology that drives therapeutic development. Students will be exposed to Immunology, Microbiology, Chemical Biology, Target Discovery, Bioengineering & 3D Systems, Synthetic Chemistry, and Bioactive Discovery both within the our Company Exploratory Science Center and other sites across the country. With access to our Company’s proven global R & D organization, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with talented and dedicated colleagues while developing and expanding your career. nThe co-op position will assist our cutting-edge technology development efforts in Chemical Biology. The co-op will focus on generating a comprehensive literature review covering state-of-the-art cellular assay technologies and/or microbiota-human interactions. The candidate will help support and implement our current investigational work in drug discovery and development. The co-op may be using various technologies including mammalian cell-based cultures, transient and stable transfection, protein detection, cell and biochemical assay development, RNA isolation and quantification, DNA/RNA sequencing, and/or mass spectrometry-based metabolomics. The student will also be expected to work with their mentor to identify and execute a research project during the co-op experience. n nCo-op position commitment: 6 months, Jul. 2021 – Dec. 2021 n nRequired Education and Experience: nCandidates must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate majoring in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or a related field as a sophomore or above nCandidates must have completed or currently taking Organic Chemistry I and Biochemistry coursework nPreferred Experience and Skills: nCandidates should be highly motivated and driven, willing to take initiative to learn new science and excited to engage in experiments at the bench. nCandidates should be a strong team player nCandidates should have a minimum of a 3.2 GPA nCandidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills nCandidates should be comfortable using a PC computer and proficient in Windows-based operating systems and basic applications, such as spreadsheets and databases, at a minimum. nCandidates should have experience with one or more of the above laboratory techniques. nCandidates should have completed or currently taking Molecular/Cell Biology and/or Microbiology coursework nWe are a research-driven biopharmaceutical company.
