Requisition Details Location Omaha, NE Requisition Number: Staff_10155 Department Pathology/Microbiology Business Unit College of Medicine Reg-Temp Full-Time Regular Work Schedule 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, five days per week to include one day on the weekend Position Summary Implements Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) compliant standard operating procedures, tests and methods in the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory (NPHL). Performs testing and analysis of clinical specimens, utilizing new diagnostic methods e.g. PCR and WGS in molecular microbiology; proper operation of equipment and resources in relationship to testing platforms utilized, and the collection, analysis and review of findings. Preferred Education: Master’s degree or equivalent If any degree/training is preferred, please specify the type: Master’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Virology, Molecular Biology, or other laboratory related science field. (Will accept a Bachelor’s of General Studies and a minimum of three years molecular biology experience in a research or clinical laboratory setting) Preferred Experience: More than two years progressive experience in a research or clinical laboratory setting with some experience in molecular biology.
