Per Diem Clinical Research Coordinator GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Reporting to the Senior Projects Manager, the per-diem Clinical Research Coordinator I/II is part of the Translational and Clinical Research Centers (TCRC) team of providers and support staff that support investigators in the implementation and execution of their studies. Anticipated responsibilities include IRB submission and amendments, application for services, creation order sets and flow sheets to mirror the protocol, participant recruitment, scheduling of appointments and other activities as delegated (as per study specific delegation log). Commensurate with experience and motivation, opportunity exists to participate in scientific manuscript preparation and writing. Creative thinking, a willingness to learn skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects are expected. Knowledge of epic and research scheduling platform. Prior research or work experience is preferred. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The position is located at the TCRC at the MGH main campus. Responsibilities include: – Supporting a large COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial – Screening of potential participants and scheduling visits as per protocol – Face to face participant interactions, as per study specific delegation log – Clinical activities can include: screening for inclusion/exclusion criteria, vital signs, EKG, single stick blood draws, questionnaires, etc. – Assist with research data and regulatory binders – Perform data analysis and QC/QA checks – Enter patient data into eCRF – Assists with data audits – Provides information about the study and acts as a resource to patients and families – Acts as primary liaison between patients and investigator to communicate about the study – Monitor patient-facing data collection platforms and escalate as needed to clinical care staff. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: – A strong interest in medicine and clinical research – Excellent writing and communication skills – Strong work ethic and excellent organization skills – Creative thinking – Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Ability to work independently and as a team player – A willingness to learn new software and skills – Ability to handle multiple projects is required – Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for patients’ rights and individual needs – Other duties as assigned EDUCATION: Minimum required: Bachelor’s Degree EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of research experience or work preferred for CRC I; Minimum of 1-2 years related experience required for CRC II. WORKING CONDITIONS: Access to desktop or laptop computer with relevant software, local area network for file storage and printer access, telephone services and general office space supplied as needed.
