Description :
Postdoctoral Fellow The particle theory group at Northwestern University anticipates hiring several postdoctoral fellows to start in Fall 2021. The appointments are for two years, renewable for a third year depending on performance and the availability of funds. Positions joint with Argonne National Laboratory may also be available. The group consists of four faculty members: John Joseph Carrasco, Andre de Gouvea, Ian Low and Frank Petriello. The research interests of the group span a large variety of topics in high energy theory, including the structure of scattering amplitudes, neutrino physics, beyond-the-Standard Model phenomenology, precision Quantum Chromodynamics, and the application of effective field theories to outstanding problems in particle physics. Northwestern also has a strong experimental particle physics group with involvement in the CMS experiment at the LHC as well as in both direct and indirect searches for dark matter. Applications should include a cover letter, a CV, and a description of research interests. In addition, applicants should arrange to have three letters of recommendation submitted.
