General Hospital/Harvard Medical School for highly motivated candidates who are interested in host epigenetic and metabolic changes in response to bacterial infections and their quorum sensing molecules. The research focus includes the discovering of the molecular mechanisms regulating the interplay between metabolic and innate immune signaling pathways and their function in host tolerance/resilience to persistent bacterial infections. In summary, the Rahme Lab focuses on bacterial mechanisms that govern virulence, their inhibition, the host metabolic and epigenetic changes in response to infection, and the development and study of prognostic tools for infection prevention and treatment. Qualifications Qualifications: Desired Skills and Experience: – Demonstrated expertise in immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology with a strong background in cellular and molecular innate immunology. – Expertise in animal (mice) handling – Additional expertise in host metabolism are preferred – Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team – Demonstrated ability to produce scientific results and to publish papers in international peer- reviewed journals – Candidates should have an excellent command of the English language. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with the PI, collaborators, and our dynamic lab crew to design and lead research. The position also involves preparing grant proposals and manuscripts, data management and dissemination, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to integrate across biological disciplines, identify and troubleshoot promising new methodologies independently, and use the appointment to develop and pursue novel, exciting questions.
