What You’ll Be Doing: As a postdoctoral fellow in the Mass Spectrometry & Biophysics (MSB) group, you will work with a highly collaborative team of scientists ining a wide range of biophysical and biochemical techniques to dissect the signal-activation mechanism of antiviral receptors involved in immunostimulatory pathways. Mechanistic and structural aspects of the signaling complex will be studied in-vitro by SPR, thermal shift assays and native gel electrophoresis, among other techniques, plus ex-vivo cell-based assays. The position requires a background in biophysical characterization of protein-protein and/or protein-RNA interactions, enzyme kinetics, and hands-on experience with protein expression and purification, including cell/tissue culture. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading the development and implementation of biophysical and biochemical in-vitro assays aimed at characterizing kinetics, thermodynamics and structural basis of macromolecular interactions. Protein expression and purification. Cell and/or tissue culture. What You Need: Candidates must currently hold a PhD OR receive a PhD by fall of 2021. Degree should be in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Structural Biology or related discipline Ability to design experiments, develop assays and interpret results. In depth knowledge of biophysical methodologies for studying protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions. Experience in protein expression and purification methods. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A demonstrated record of impactful publications. It’s Great If You Have: Working knowledge of cell/tissue culture.
