Job Details Full-time$53,000 – $64,000 a year1 hour ago Qualifications – Data collection – Doctoral degree Full Job Description The Hong Lab in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah is seeking for innovative, energetic, and motivated postdoctoral scientists to work on NIH-funded research focusing on understanding basic mechanisms of heart failure using cellular and animal models to develop novel therapies for heart failure. Responsibilities Responsibilities include identifying new targets via exploring mechanistic regulation of intracellular membrane microdomains and extracellular vesicles released from normal and failing cardiomyocytes, developing new therapies using biochemical and molecular approaches, evaluating rescue capability of new treatments via monitoring in vivo cardiac function using echocardiogram and hemodynamic measurement, as well as studying the cellular effects of new treatments on cardiomyocyte microdomain organization using state-of-the art super-resolution fluorescent and electron microscopy imaging and biochemical analysis. Other responsibilities include staying abreast of current literature in the field, designing and executing experiments, assisting data collection and statistical analysis for grant application, preparing and delivering oral and poster presentation at national and international scientific conferences, and preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Minimum Qualifications Preferences Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, or related Biomedical Science field or an equivalent doctoral degree is required. Previous experience in extracellular vesicles and/or animal models of heart failure are preferred but not required.
