How youll contribute

Lead scientific projects to develop tissue-based products for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension and other lung diseases.

Establish robust processes to manufacture engineered lung tissue suitable for lung transplant, with a particular focus on scaffold perfusion and cellularization

Establish robust processes for maturing iPSC-derived cells on 3D printed scaffolds for production of tissue engineered lungs

Lead and contribute to ongoing and new project areas as needed to develop autologous lung tissue engineering products

Manage the development and implementation of analytic methods to characterize engineered lung tissues

Ensure laboratory experiments lead to the successful achievement of program objectives

Ensure processes developed and data collected are sufficient to support regulatory filings

Identify and implement new technology, methods, and protocols to complete program objectives and goals

Work with technicians, research associates, scientists, engineers, and other staff to complete program objectives and goals

Participate in selection, purchase, and implementation of laboratory equipment

Develop, write and review laboratory methods and protocols

Perform tech transfer activities from outside collaborators to internal laboratory

Assist in evaluating new technologies for future product development

Author scientific publications and present data at scientific conferences

Author and contribute to IP and regulatory filings

Perform other duties as assigned

For this role you will need

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in biomedical science or related field, with Postdoctoral training in regenerative medicine

8+ years of pharmaceutical or academic research experience

Prior experience and subject matter expertise in Regenerative Medicine and/or Lung tissue engineering (e.g. tissue engineering, decellularization, biomaterials)

Experience with scientific project management

Experience with Aseptic Technique and mammalian cell culture, as well as protein and molecular biology assays and techniques

Experience with bioreactor and organ culture systems

Excellent communication, with advanced written and oral communication skills

Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

Experience with laboratory instrumentation and data software

Ability to travel up to 10% as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with lung cell and stem cell biology
