Impossible Foods is seeking an experienced and mission-aligned Principal Scientist, to join the Product Innovation Department – an interdisciplinary team of designers, scientists, engineers, and chefs. We are looking for a curious, analytic, collaborative, and creative can-do problem solver that enjoys building innovations. You will be leading cross-functional projects at the interface of discoveries and product development.
Turn platform discoveries into product innovations.
Facilitate interdisciplinary efforts for mid- to longer-term product initiatives (>1.5 yr).
Creatively solve product integration challenges to create concept prototypes.
Develop new technologies to deliver key product attributes to our consumers.
Lead cross functional initiatives to integrate new technologies into products.
Research molecule interactions (Protein-Fat, Flavor-Protein etc.) within complex matrices.
Mentor and manage scientists and research associates.
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field.
Several years of post-PhD experience working at the interface of discovery and development.
A proven record of initiative, innovation and research productivity.
A strong commitment to Impossible Foods’ mission.
A passion to create delicious products.
Experience managing individuals, with strong mentoring abilities.
Self starter with the ability to thrive in a diverse, dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Inclination to challenge assumptions to seek innovative solutions.
