Position Summary As a Process Quality Engineer at Mack Trucks, your main role will be as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the core Quality Processes horizontally integrated into the production shop floor. In addition to maintaining and upholding internal processes, you will facilitate the journey to implement Global Volvo Group best practices This role will require strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to ensure the highest level of acceptance and understanding of the concepts to be enforced. Due to complexities of the processes and concepts, a strong analytic thinking candidate is also preferred Core Responsibilities – Subject Matter Expert on application and maintenance of Quality Processes and Concepts – Uphold premium quality by advocating for the customer – Develop and implement quality assurance processes and tools – Support quality training coordination – Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other quality problems that adversely affect plant operations. To fulfill this responsibility the Quality Engineer shall apply: – Data analysis techniques – Root-Cause Analysis methods – Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action Systems Technical Skills SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED – Strong understanding of best practice quality tools – Strong problem solver/decision maker, ability to take a well-ordered approach to solving problems and acting despite obstacles, resistance or ambiguity – Able to demonstrated knowledge of quality standards and the manufacturing business. Organization and ability to utilize policies, practices, trends, and tactics to accomplish business objectives – Knowledge of engineering concepts, manufacturing, the product, production standards and efficiency optimization tools; process oriented – Proven ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements to the assembly operation – Possesses strong analytical skills and demonstrated focus on process and Lean Manufacturing concepts – Blueprint reading – Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio – Experience with Power BI preferred Soft Skills – Good organizational, verbal, and writing skills – Must be able to effectively work in a fast paced environment – Technically oriented; strong working knowledge of automotive operations – Good time management skills – Able to work in teams – Proven ability to manage multiple conflicting projects to successful conclusion – Strong data management and organizational skills – Proven ability to react to issues impacting production with a sense of urgency, promptly assessing the issue and developing a feasible action plan and following it through to successful completion – Effective communicator, able to speak to all audiences throughout the organization, understanding the various needs of audience members, and tailoring the message to address their concerns.
