Located in our downtown Denver office, you will be responsible for conducting the product application process, including the proper application and selection of automotive/heavy-duty/other-motive products for both Gates Corporation and Gates Catalog Services clients. This process is in support of Product Marketing, Catalog Services, Sales Teams, Pricing and Customers. Key responsibilities (to name a few): – Help to build strong relationships with the Automotive Technician community at vehicle dealerships, automotive technician industry initiatives, and application data vendors. – Find and implement new ways of collecting and processing data in order to improve the application process; share knowledge learned with stake holders; and ensures the quality of the process. – Investigate and make interchanges from competitive product to Gates products. – Determine new ways to deliver key educational information to technicians to help installation of our products. – Help product managers develop existing or new products for Gates, including recommendations and testing. – Guide new product development in creating new best solution products and kits for all future applications utilizing current internal database programs. – Provide a customer service roll within the national technical hotline and develop statistics that lead to new products or process changes that will result in new product opportunities. – Recognizes the need for rapid response of application research. ABOUT YOU – BA/BS degree is preferred or equivalent work experience – ASE Certification – 3-5 years of specific experience – Spanish speaking is desired but not required – Experience in dealing directly with customer is preferred. – Works well under pressure, effectively handles conflict and demonstrates flexibility in work style to accommodate changing priorities and fixed deadlines. – Self-motivated, capable of seeking quality solutions and continuously focusing on process improvements, while keeping the needs of the business in the forefront. – Effective communication skills both written and oral. – High degree of mechanical aptitude required. – Project management skills helpful. – Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. – Extremely organized, ability to juggle multiple priorities and flexible to accommodate changing business needs and fixed deadlines. – Strong team player; proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all functions, builds collaborative relationships. – Demonstrated problem solving skills: understanding of appropriate escalation points. – Takes responsibility for personal development. – Experience with Automotive, Heavy Duty (on/off road) and/or other vehicle applications a must. – Must be capable of understanding vehicle part blueprints/documentation provided by OEMs. – Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
