Check out the job opening and requirements below: We are looking for an experienced, and mission-aligned Principal Scientist to join the Product Development Department. We hope to find an data-driven, collaborative and creative problem solver. The primary responsibility for this role is to research and develop innovative plant-based products. We are looking for people with a proven track record in research, product innovation and/or development. They will cross-functionally lead the creation of new products, guide the team’s research, design experiments, analyze data, and engineer solutions. Overall, we are looking for a leader who can inspire, ideate, mentor and foster good practices rooted in the scientific method. You Will: Identify opportunities to improve technical management of existing product categories Optimize processes for existing ingredient validation Mentor team members to ensure good adherence to scientific principals and methods Develop and execute a guiding philosophy for specification management including development and validation of leading indicators of product quality Develop, conduct, and analyze experiments using design of experiment philosophy Proactively collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple projects that adhere to fast timelines Utilize deep technical expertise to guide decision making around scientific experimentation and data analysis Drive process and documentation improvements and practices You Have: MS/Ph.D. in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or similar field Demonstrated experience working within multiple existing product categories in the consumer packaged good industry Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with fast timelines, novel processing equipment, and across multiple manufacturing locations Proven track record of innovative research and or development projects Self starter with the ability to thrive in a diverse, dynamic and fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to continuously challenge assumptions to seek innovative solutions Strong project management skills Mentorship experience Impossible Foods Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
