The Quality Assurance Analyst reviews project or software requirements; and performs quality tests of business processes and code. The incumbent will interact with business users, project managers, and developers to create functional test plans and define and record defects. Key Responsibilities Develop a test plan by understanding the system and process changes. This is done by participation in the Agile process, review of documentation of requirements, interviews, analysis, requirement demos, lab setups, business process descriptions, review of use cases, scenarios, business analysis, research, and task/workflow analysis. Evaluate information gathered and develop a road map of programs changed and the system processes that could be affected. Proactively communicate and collaborate with Agile teams and/or product owners information about defects identified in code. Register the details in the respective tracking tool. Follow-up to reconcile those code corrections. Automate test scenarios to maximize time used in reviewing test results. Utilize personal experience to work cohesively with Project Management and Application Development. Strong analytical and quality assurance skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret code changes and translate each request into appropriate test plans. Serve as the conduit with Application Development to reconcile the quality provided to the business for software development requirements flow. Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the appropriate test patterns and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. Qualifications Bachelor s degree in related field, or equivalent experience; 2 – 4 years experience in Quality Assurance field. Proficient in SQL. Proficiency in programming languages or scripting highly desirable. Experience in automated testing tools such as Test Partner and/or other Compuware tools, i.e. Track Record. Must be able to resolve issues by providing acceptable alternatives. Must have experience with test definition and translation and relating with systems development. Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) and any industry standard test tools. Strong communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate issues as they arise in a test, and quickly move on in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines are met. Self-starter; works well independently; ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.
