SI03 [ is currently looking for a Quality Control team member. The individual in this position will take samples of food products as they move through production. These samples are then scrutinized for weight, color, consistency, texture, and other organoleptic criteria. This position’s efforts ensure that every individually packaged product looks and tastes the same. In addition to the food itself, this person will appraise the ingredient labels to make sure they’re readable. Will work to reduce the number of damaged packaging that leaves the facility by checking for damaged containers, labels, lids, etc. Another expectation is placing those findings against a well-established quality standard. Ideally, this person may have some knowledge of chemistry, food science, research, and development, or quality control in a food production company. This role will offer an opportunity for professional growth and development while working under a growing company. Responsibilities

* Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues
* Monitor all operations that affect quality
* Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output
* Report all malfunctions to production executives to ensure immediate action
* Review current standards and policies
* Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation
* Ensure all legal standards are met

* Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligation
* Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures

* Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)

Requirements

* Conscientious and responsible

* Proven experience in a similar role or a degree in related field
* A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
* Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
* Outstanding communication skills
* Great attention to detail and a results driven approach
* Ability to perform taste & odor analysis
* Formal training & understanding of, analytics, standard deviation, trend analysis, etc

Preferred/Bonus Qualifications or Experience

* Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
* Familiarity with USDA compliance, processes, procedures and documentation
* Background in chemistry or food science
* Experience in quality control for a food manufacturing company or facility
* Ability to perform above average taste & odor analysis
