Position Description JOB SUMMARY (Briefly describe the job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization) Reports directly to the QA Team Lead. Tests/Inspects components and/or finished goods for acceptability and functionality. Works with Production Management / Associates to contain nonconforming product as applicable. Provides quality related support to validations / projects as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Conducts sampling, product testing, and visual inspection of finished goods; identifying nonconformances and ensuring accurate containment as required. 2. Report all product nonconformance issues to Quality Management, and Production Supervisor. 3. Initiates Quality Holds (QNs) and ensures the notifications are completed accurately and completely. 4. Completes accurate, timely, and legible documentation of all inspection/testing data. Record the results of inspections, tests, and audit findings on the appropriate forms and/or in the Quality Module of SAP. 5. Assists with validation and special quality related projects as requested. Stat sample or contain hold products as applicable per the appropriate specification requirements. 6. Reads and interprets sampling plans to determine sample size and/or accept/reject criteria. If an identified Trainer, train new hire/transferred inspectors to inspect product per the appropriate specifications and utilize all gauges/ equipment pertaining to Quality Assurance testing. 7. Maintains adherence to all safety, environmental and quality system standards. Engages in Safety, Quality, Production and Plant related programs as the need arises (Safety Observations, Meetings, Gembas, Quality Week, Inclusion and Diversity Council Activities, etc.) 8. Maintains compliance with all training requirements, ensures training is current and completed within the time allotted. 9. Associates selected for the ‘Floater’ position must be able perform all functions listed above for all Business Units within the site. Floaters will be required to cover open positions on their assigned shift due to absences for vacation, etc. May also perform itional testing / inspection throughout the plant to support various validations and projects. Also cover for the QA Team Lead on the shift in the event of an absence (planned or unplanned) as noted below: 10. Coordinates and guides the activities of the in-process inspectors on shift. Works alongside Production Supervisors as appropriate to ensure supervision, on shift, is aware of quality related issues. ITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Perform all other miscellaneous duties as appropriately advised by Quality Management or designate. 2. Stays in sync with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles. Required Preferred H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. (if hired after 6/1/00) Internal transfers exempted Type of Experience 6 months QA experience or exposure, ability to navigate a computer in a Windows based environment. Blueprint reading and Statistical Process Control. Use of measurement devices such as Calipers, Go/No-Go Gauges, Optical Comparators, Digital Force Gauges and rules.
