AIG Investments is looking to fill a role in its Public Equity Strategies Group, reporting to the Head of Quant Equity Research. About the role What you need to know: The Public Equity Strategies Group oversees a portfolio of external hedge funds and develops proprietary absolute return strategies. In addition, the group is developing capabilities for quantitative, factor-based evaluation of external managers and optimal capital allocation across external hedge funds, internal strategies, and long-only equities strategies. The Quant Research Analyst is a key member of the investment teams. Responsibilities include: – Clean, map, and store data into internal database for research and trading – Work with fellow quant researchers to identify useful data sources – Develop tools to visualize data – Efficiently deploy data and models to trading The Quant Research Analyst will work closely with the Public Equities groups quant group and the deep resources of AIGs Investment Division (IT, the Science team, etc.) in the course of day to day work. Over the horizon of 3 years, the Public Equity Strategies Group is expected to create a highly diversified, high performance portfolio with capacity in the billions of USDs. The Quant Research Analyst will be a strong contributor to the achievement of this goal. What we are looking for Ideal candidates will have 3+ years quant research experience along with demonstrated achievements in creative problem solving and solid programming skills. Candidate selection will place emphasis on data related programming and practical experience with data management, along with the willingness to collaborate with other groups in AIG in technology and quantitative analysis fields. Specific skills and experience sought include: – Expert in a programming language such as Matlab, Python, C/C++ – Deep knowledge of historical equity data mapping using various identifiers – Attention to detail – Develop web scrapes to collect alternative date – Advanced graduate degree in a quantitative field It has been and will continue to be the policy of American International Group, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
