Studies in the laboratory focus on the biology of fat cells and include molecular control of adipocyte specification, adipose tissue structure and function, role of adipose tissue in organismal metabolism and translational studies linking obesity to comorbid diseases. Will use mouse models and cellular systems to identify relevant pathways and dissect their mechanism of action. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in science required; educational emphasis in cell biology, biochemistry and physiology. Experience with molecular biology techniques, cell culture, biochemistry, and animal techniques helpful. Prior laboratory experience a must. Experience working with mouse models or willingness to be trained to work with mice preferred.
