Message to Applicants Number of Positions Available 1 University Title Research Associate 2-Engineer Working Title Research Associate 2-Engineer Department Cntr for Automotive Research Department Location Columbus Requisition Number Summary of Duties Designs, assists and implements experiments for Li-ion battery characterization; develop and validate models for estimating voltage, heat generation and degradation; assists in the design and implementation of software to support equipment control, data acquisition and safety monitoring for battery model characterization and validation experiments; assists in design of mechanical fixtures for battery testing and the fabrication of prototypes battery modules and packs; helps in managing the battery testing facilities by supporting the maintenance, upkeep and operation of the equipment; coordinates and conducts research on modeling on Li-ion batteries, including the development of electrochemical models, thermal models, and integration of such models in different software platforms (Matlab, Star CCM+, GT-Autolion); develops experimental procedures and post-processing methods to calibrate and validate such models; prepares and presents paper/reports; writes, edits and/or approves progress and technical reports for sponsors; edits research results for publication and presentation; plans and coordinates meetings with industry partners; conducts internal and external research meetings; schedules and oversees graduate student support on related projects.
