Description :
Surrozen is a biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing novel regenerative medicines that unlock the powerful self-renewal properties of the body through specific control of the Wnt signaling pathway.

Surrozen was founded by five leading-edge scientists: K. Christopher Garcia, Ph.D., Roel Nusse, Ph.D. and Calvin Kuo, M.D., Ph.D. from Stanford University; Claudia Janda, Ph.D. from the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology; and Hans Clevers, M.D, Ph.D. from the Hubrecht Institute and Princess Maxima Center. Each has conducted extensive research on Wnt signaling, with findings that together shape Surrozens technology and approach to therapeutic development.

We are currently recruiting a Research Associate to join our Discovery Biology group. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic, and motivated scientist to work in an exciting, collaborative environment with great colleagues who are dedicated to advancing Surrozens mission.

* Apply a diverse range of molecular and cell biology, biochemical, and genomics approaches to identify molecules with regenerative potential and characterize mechanism of action
* Maintain mammalian cell culture (cell lines and organoids) and run functional assays (e.g., RT-qPCR, immunofluorescence, reporter assays, flow cytometry)
* Develop and optimize protocols for primary cell isolation
* Analyze gene and protein expression in cells and tissues by RT-qPCR, RNA in situ hybridization, bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing, and immunohistochemistry
* Interpret data and present findings in small and large group meetings

* Bachelors or Masters degree in Molecular/Cell Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 1-4 years of hands on research experience in either an academic lab or industry setting
* Experience and competency with a range of molecular and cell biology and biochemical techniques such as molecular cloning, ELISA, high-throughput reporter assays, sequencing library preparation, immunofluorescence, western blotting, FACS, immunohistochemistry, RNA in situ hybridization, and microscopy
* Experience with primary cell isolation and culture is highly recommended
* Familiarity with R and/or Python is a plus
* Enjoys problem solving and is interested in learning new techniques and approaches
* Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, to communicate effectively, and to build collaborative relationships

* We offer a dynamic start-up environment and a collaborative, passionate team
* Excellent benefits, including competitive employer contributions
* Stock options
* Paid vacation, sick time and holidays
