Job Summary The School of Chemistry and Biochemistry is recruiting a new Research Associate I-Limited Term (LT) position in the laboratory of Professor Amit Reddi with specialized training in Redox Cell Biology and Biochemistry. This position is critical for completing NIH-funded research probing the role of Cu/Zn Superoxide Dismutase in redox signaling and homeostasis and is fully supported on research funding. This position in a 3-month limited term position. This position will include the primary responsibility of conducting redox-state analysis of various proteins in yeast and mammalian cell lines, making gene deletion and overexpression cell lines in yeast and human cell lines, recording and analyzing data, and training new students. Responsibilities The position will require that the applicant conduct protein expression and thiol oxidation state analysis of various proteins in yeast and mammalian cell lines, generate gene deletion and overexpression cell lines in yeast and human cell lines, record and analyze data, and trains new students. Required Qualifications The applicant should have experience conducting immunoblots, protein oxidation state analysis, and culturing yeast and mammalian cell lines. Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences required. Preferred Qualifications A PhD preferred. The applicant should have at least 3 years research experience conducting the aforementioned biochemical and cell biological analyses in yeast and mammalian cell lines.
