Job Summary: As part of the Customer Experience Organization, the Research Associate II/III, Product Enablement, carries out the daily activities and outcomes of a customer-facing new technology laboratory. The Research Associate will be a key contributor to a multidisciplinary team working to educate customers and generate technical content for NGS assays on the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiling (DSP) platform. This individual will execute wet-bench experimentation (>50% benchwork required) and subsequent data analysis activities. The individual will work directly with customers performing demos and training in pre-sales and post-sales environments. Essential Responsibilities: – Execute molecular biology protocols to generate technical content for NGS assays for GeoMx DSP – Organize, manipulate and analyze large complex NGS data sets in R and/or Excel (R preferred) – Execute experiments on the GeoMx DSP platform using NGS and nCounter readout – Manage, order, and organize lab reagent inventory – Assist with creation of new product training and video content for customers – Work directly with customers and effectively collaborate with other team members, including engineers, scientists, and biologists Requirements: – 3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience, experimental design, implementation, troubleshooting, and data analysis – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related field. – Experience with methods used for the analysis of gene expression, with hands-on NGS experience preferred – Experience with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and/or In situ hybridization (ISH) – Strong analytical and organizational skills exemplified by clear oral presentations and written documentation – Able to work effectively with customers and under pressure to meet scheduled deadlines and to handle multiple activities simultaneously – Must be detail-oriented and highly motivated; independent yet enjoys working in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment Preferred Qualifications: – Experience in histopathology, FFPE tissue prep, and fluorescent microscopy – Experience in data analysis with Excel or any biostatistics software (R preferred) – Strong product enablement or development experience within the life sciences industry NanoString is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
