Job Details Full-timeEstimated: $46,000 – $62,000 a year2 hours ago Qualifications – Research – Doctoral degree Full Job Description The University of Virginia’s Neurodevelopment Lab, under the direction of Dr. Christopher Deppmann, seeks applicants for a Research Associate (postdoctoral) position. The position will involve working on projects funded by the NIH and NSF to study the molecular basis of nervous system wiring during development and will also provide ample opportunity for developing an individual and creative program of research. More generally, the Deppmann Lab investigates the competitive programs underlying nervous system assembly during development and disassembly during pathology. We are also developing tools to better answer many of these questions. We rely on several cutting-edge methods to answer our questions, including molecular, genetic, and biochemical techniques. The successful candidate will thus have the opportunity to profit from the lab’s multi-method approach. The University of Virginia is consistently ranked as a top public institution. The postdoctoral affairs website at the following URL provides more information on resources for postdocs at the University of Virginia: QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in neuroscience and research experience in developmental neuroscience or a closely related field by the appointment start date is required along with experience conducting research using in vitro primary neuron cultures, in vivo conditional genetic approaches, protein purification, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, and neuroanatomy.
