Research Associate in Radio Frequency Engineering and Signal Processing Job description Job summary We are seeking to hire a Research Associate (Post-Doc) to join our work on RF Shadowing which is the study of the use of electromagnetic field propagation as a sensor. In this case we wish to sense the behaviours of mechanical systems in real world environments. Duties and responsibilities This is part of our Singapore Eco Cities programme of work led by PI Professor Julie McCann as part of her Adaptive Emergent Systems Engineering Lab (AESE). AESE is primarily located in Imperial College London, but this position will be based in Singapore lab working with I2R and the Singapore Housing Development Board. You will be joining a world-leading team. Imperial College is consistently in the top 10 world university rankings with the Department of Computing ranked top of the Research Intensity table in the 2014 UK REF assessment. The AESE group won the 2020 President’s Medal for Outstanding Research. Essential requirements At Research Associate level you must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science (or equivalent) with strong experience in: – electromagnetic field propagation and their interactions. – signal processing algorithms, – channel modelling. Experience in using numerical simulation software packages like MATLAB, HFSS or CST and experience and the ability to conduct practical experiments that involve collaborations between multiple disciplines or departments is an advantage. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven research record and publications in A-ranked venues in relevant areas. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to organise your work with minimal supervision and prioritise work to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Further information Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range 36,045 – 39,183 per annum.
