The Mechanisms of Cancer Resistance (MoCR) Thematic Research Center (TRC) at BMS is one of the fundamental research and early development engines delivering oncology therapeutics to patients. The scientists at this state-of-the-art research and development site in Cambridge focus on novel tumor intrinsic targets and pathways for tumors that are refractory to current oncology therapies and implement our discovery platforms across all of our therapeutic areas of focus. The Research Scientist will join the Drug Discovery group focused on Oncology Resistance at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Cambridge, MA. We are a fully integrated preclinical drug discovery and early clinical development organization which exploits state-of-the-art technologies to build a one-of-its-kind pipeline with the highest potential to meaningfully improve lives of cancer patients with the utmost clinical need. The qualified candidate is a highly motivated, passionate, and creative individual that possesses the ability to work across a highly matrixed environment to advance preclinical programs from target identification/validation through IND enabling activities. The candidate will have a strong understanding of tumor intrinsic biology, cancer cell signaling, and mechanisms of response and resistance to targeted therapies. The candidate is expected to effectively collaborate with colleagues in supportive line functions (including medicinal chemistry, pharmacology and translational medicine) to advance preclinical development of therapeutic candidates to early clinical development. The successful candidate will demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication, capable of presenting scientific results to multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders. Qualifications * A B.S. with a minimum of 4 years, or an M.S. with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience with hands-on research experience in cancer biology, cell signaling and molecular biology is required. * Demonstrated independence in experimental design, execution, data analysis and troubleshooting is required. * Hands on experience with a wide range of in vitro cellular and biochemical assays such as cell culture, cell line engineering, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, ELISAs, reporter assays, and high content imaging is preferred. * Proficiency in utilizing software such as Graph Pad, Microsoft office etc. for data analysis and figure generation is required. * Ability to mentor more junior scientists and colleagues on best practices in the laboratory would be highly valued. * Attention to detail with excellent organizational and record keeping skills is a must. * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally is required. * This position is located in Cambridge, MA.
