Job Details Full-time2 hours ago Full Job Description Job Summary We are looking for a highly motivated candidate for the role of Scientist – Biologist to join the growing Functional Genomics High Throughput Biology Imaging team. A successful candidate will be responsible for general lab-based upkeep (i.e.; maintaining mammalian cell lines, stocking reagents and supplies, etc.) with the goal to grow into an imaging focused role in an automation laboratory. In this position, the candidate will work within a matrix, collaborative, fast-paced, team environment across diverse biotherapeutic portfolio within the company. Job Responsibilities – Maintain laboratory supplies by routinely checking inventory. – Maintain mammalian cell cultures to develop in vitro functional models and perform high-throughput screens. – Understanding of routine laboratory reagents and instrumentation (ie; centrifuges, pipettors, plate readers, and liquid handling units). – Maintenance of standard tissue culture cell lines including passaging, and plating. – Set up of plate-based assays focusing on image analysis (i.e.; plating and fixing of cells, staining with antibodies and dyes). – Assist in high throughput screening campaigns. – Understanding of standard software packages (i.e.; Excel, PowerPoint, Prism, Spotfire, etc.) – Understanding of automation and microscopy a bonus but can be trained. – Maintain an electronic laboratory notebook and present results at team and project meetings. Education/Experience/Qualifications We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology or Biomedical sciences fields with laboratory research experience in an laboratory environment. – Minimum of 1 year of technical expertise in cell culture, general lab instrumentation, cell-based assays. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: – Previous experience in biotech and/or pharmaceutical drug discovery. – Experience in Microscopy and High Content Analysis. – Experience with advanced image analytics packages (Image J, FIJI, Columbus, Spotfire, etc) – Experience with PerkinElmer Opera Phenix High Content Screening System. – Understanding or use of CRISPR technology. – Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality, consistent results in a timely fashion. – Ability meet timelines successfully with the utmost attention to detail while setting high performance standards. – Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data. – Design and executes new and established methods and protocols.
