RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, Biology-Case Lab, to join a new research team studying how cells regulate the spatial organization of signaling molecules at the plasma membrane to control downstream signaling. The lab uses quantitative experimental approaches from biochemistry, molecular biophysics, and cell biology to study transmembrane signaling pathways and how they are misregulated in diseases like cancer. The work will involve molecular cloning, protein expression, and protein purification. Will also assist with day-to-day operational tasks, including inventory management, safety compliance, training new members, and reagent maintenance. Job Requirements REQUIRED: exposure to a research lab (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate); organizational, problem-solving, critical-thinking, time-management, and verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated attention to detail; self-direction/motivation; practiced documentation skills; awareness of and ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment; and the ability to respond to a rapidly evolving work environment involving concurrent projects and responsibilities. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree, especially with coursework in biology, biochemistry, and/or chemistry; and experience with molecular cloning and protein purification.
