RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, School of Medicine, Vice Chair for Research RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, School of Medicine, Vice Chair for Research Category Research Job Location BOSTON, MA Tracking Code 6083 Salary Grade Grade 45 Position Type Full-Time/Regular Job Description The Single Cell Sequencing Core at Boston University Department of Medicine seeks a research technician. The responsibilities will include single cell library preparation for RNA-seq using commercially available kits and in-house protocols, assistance to the Core Research Scientist with development and optimization of novel plate-based protocols and routine maintenance of the Core equipment and reagents inventory. The successful candidate will be a highly responsible individual with great attention to detail, capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and working independently, precisely following molecular biology protocols and processing large number of samples. Please include the contact information for 3 references. Required Skills At least 2 years of previous laboratory experience and familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques are required. Previous experience with microarray, next generation sequencing or single cell RNA-seq is not required, but helpful. A BA or BS in biology, biochemistry or other life science discipline and basic computer skills are required.
