A solid background in general chemistry, and good understanding in biochemistry and analytical chemistry is essential. Selected candidate must be able to work neatly and efficiently, and follow the established standard operation procedure strictly. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry or related field. Hands-on experiences in HPLC, UV, LC-MS, DNA extraction, cell culture, animal experiment are highly desirable but not required. Dr. Robert Turesky is recruiting a supporting scientist to to perform structured research-related work assignments for projects regarding carcinogen biomarkers development and validation, and mechanistic bioactivation of carcinogens in human. With instruction, guidance and direction, the Researcher 1 will isolate and purify DNA from biofluids, frozen tissues, and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks, perform liquid-liquid/solid-phase extraction, and/or work with cell culture and animals (rodents).
