The Scientist will be responsible for method design and execution of microbiology based in vitro experiments directed toward discovery, development, and efficacy substantiation of claims to support the long-term growth of Oral Health and Baby franchises. The Scientist will be part of a core team of subject matter experts building in vitro models and formulations that deliver new product innovations and consumer relevant messages. Our work is predictive of clinical outcomes, provides mechanistic insights, and/or establishes the basis for new product claims. The candidate will lead collaborative efforts on method development opportunities and will partner with cross functional colleagues to generate data, report results and determine next steps to progress overall project objectives. Preparation and delivery of technical presentations is required. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills together with the ability to manage multiple complex projects. The selected candidate must be able to operate in and leverage resources in a highly networked team environment and be able to execute against multiple projects with tight timelines. Ability to collaborate, manage routine processes, take measured risks, and make decisions to drive project progress are critical components of the role. The Scientist will work closely with internal R & D partners and external collaborators to establish timelines and execute efficacy testing for assigned projects. Job responsibilities include: Conducting literature and patent searches; organizing and assimilating results of literature searches; Collaborating on design of experiments with project partners; Execution of experiments, data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation. Support technology transfer activities Review and implement industry regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with safety, quality, records, scientific principles and GxP Qualifications Bachelors’ Degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related biological scientific field with 2-5+ years’ of relevant experience OR Masters’ Degree with 1-3+ years’ of relevant experience is required. Technical experience in the area of bacteria/biofilm culture, microbiology method development is required. Experience with Fluorescence (confocal) microscopy, Rheometry, Digital Imaging Microscopy, Oral Biofilms research, Automated Liquid Handlers, Image analysis software programs, MATLAB or other statistical analysis software, PCR, protein characterization/purification is preferred.
