Resilience is looking for a Bioinformatics Group Lead who will provide direction for innovative bioinformatic solutions for challenging problems associated with Genomic and functional analyses at single cell resolution Ultra-efficient analysis of massive genomic data sets Development of novel algorithms that can deconvolve highly multiplexed omics data sets Extraction of biological information from complex multivariate data sets. Visualization tools that enable intuitive analyses The candidate will work closely with multi-disciplinary scientists involved in the generation of genomic, cell engineering and phenotypic data, and with software engineers and big data architects to facilitate an understanding of the biological models being built at Resilience. The ideal individual is An adept problem-solver Highly competent at analyzing and managing Illumina sequencing data sets Has developed algorithms for novel next generation sequencing applications An excellent communicator Able to facilitate the diverse teams involved in experiments to make genetic editing predictable. Responsibilities Design and implement multimodal genomic analysis pipelines, to produce descriptive, predictive, or prescriptive models Identify and provide scientific guidance for novel approaches to genome engineering and analysis of engineered cells Work closely with researchers to design and analyze experiments that increase biological understanding. Develop and validate high quality, robust algorithms for high resolution genomics analyses Develop analyses software for internal end-users Build and nurture a high-performance team for bioinformatics and big data analysis Requirements PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, with a focus in genomic data analysis 5+ years of experience in leading bioinformatics or data science R & D activities in a biology-based scientific environment Experience and comfort working with large, disparate types of bioinformatics data Ability to summarize, visualize, and communicate findings for non-scientists Familiarity with a variety of machine learning techniques (GLMs, regression, dimensionality reduction, decision trees, neural networks, etc) Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment Ability to continually integrate new learnings with existing knowledge. Specialties Expertise in developing end to end applications for NGS Sequencing Ability to run WGS and RNAseq analysis pipelines Statistical analysis of genotypic, gene expression data in bulk and single-cell samples COVID 19 Alert – Resilience is closely monitoring the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
