ERM is seeking a hands-on Senior Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Modeler to join our consulting firm, with a flexible location. This position will include working on a multitude of interesting and challenging site investigation, remediation, and water resource projects that apply water supply evaluation, mining applications, groundwater-surface water interactions and fate and transport modeling based in geology, hydrogeology and groundwater modeling (both analytical and numerical). Responsibilities * Work individually and as part of a project team to assist with a multi- faceted role to discuss and drive projects forward. * Support and/or be primary lead for developing numerical/analytical groundwater hydraulic and fate and transport models. * Conceptualizing and building conceptual site models for use in all phases of a project life cycle. * Design and conduct hydrogeologic evaluations such as capture zone analyses, pumping test evaluation, and aid in remedial system design. * Plan, participate, and oversee field work, including hydraulic testing (slug and aquifer testing). * Onsite investigations of well installation, sample collection, drilling log and geologic cross-section preparation. * Work plan and technical report development. * Prepare and present project data for internal and external client-facing purposes using data visualization approaches, including use of data analytical tools. * Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments. * Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. * Mentor and train junior staff to build technical capability. * Fieldwork opportunities for the above may be year-round and require some travel away. Requirements * Bachelor s or Master s Degree in geology, geological engineering hydrogeology; Master s is preferred. * 5 to 8 years of practical experience in the field of hydrogeology. * Groundwater modeling experience and comfortable familiarity with MODFLOW/ MT3D, newer versions of MODFLOW such as USG or MODFLOW6, and other codes is a must. * Experience with programmatically working with modeling data for input/ output generation such as Fortran, Python, or R is preferred. * Experience with data analytics and visualization tools is preferred. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports is required. * Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols. * Valid driver s license and a good driving record. * 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred, but not required. * Ability to succeed in a consulting pace, handling multiple project assignments, and maintaining flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines.
