GDMS has an immediate opening for a Senior Quality Engineer to join an integrated product team responsible for overseeing the production and test of high-assurance, mission-critical electronics hardware. The selected candidate will be a key quality assurance representative for a major strategic program. The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of program quality assurance while working with an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to collaborate and manage the ongoing production build and test activities for a diverse range of complex circuit card assemblies. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: The Senior Quality Engineer will be a hands-on, working leader who oversees and maintains all aspects of QA for this critical program, including: ongoing flow down, interpretation, and enforcement of the customers contractual quality requirements; Materials Review Board (MRB); Test Review Board (TRB); and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Preventive Action Corrective Action (PACA) activities and documentation; continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Quality Engineer may also function as Cost Account Manager (CAM) in an Earned Value Management (EVM) environment for all QA staff working on the program and will generate the QA aspects of program contract proposals. The Senior Quality Engineer works under the IPT Quality Assurance Lead/Supervisor s guidance. The Senior Quality Engineer will regularly and constructively interface with internal and external customer representatives and team members from Program Management, Process and Manufacturing Engineering, Scheduling, Materials & Supply Chain, and other disciplines, and will be comfortable functioning in a matrix organization with programmatic and departmental/functional lines of reporting and responsibility. The position may conduct training on quality assurance concepts, tools, and techniques, and will involve generating and presenting quality assurance information while speaking as the program quality representative in various formal presentation venues to internal and external customers. PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE: Knowledge, experience, and skills in the following areas: Mechanical or electrical Engineering and technology Able to multitask in fast-paced environment Leadership Experience Works well in teams Timely decision-making, strong self-motivation and initiative Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills Preparation and support of complex proposals and Contract review Detailed Statement of Work (SOW) and requirements flow down verifications Leadership in root cause analysis and driving corrective and preventive actions Extensive experience in Hardware Quality (mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic assemblies) in an AS 9100 / ISO 9001 Manufacturing environment Configuration management industry standards and effective implementation of as-built records, Acceptance Data Packages and Change Control Board (CCB) Documentation practices Supplier Quality management Successfully represent company during external customer audits for conformance to quality management standards and program-specific requirements Very high proficiency required in MS-Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint MS-Access along with requirements management applications such as IBM DOORS and user experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Proficient in problem solving tools, such as 5-Whys, Fault Tree Analysis, Pareto, and Fishbone (Cause/Effect) diagram.
