Position_Summary The candidate will support advancement of innovative AAV-based therapeutics by using a variety of research methods including mammalian cell culture, molecular and biochemical techniques, and cell-based assays. Responsibilities o Work on a dynamic team to model/validate AAV gene therapy vectors in vitro/in vivo o Design, execute, and optimize cell-based, biochemical, and molecular assays o Utilize scientific knowledge to improve gene therapy platform and efficacy o Help establish Non-Clinical in vitro analysis pipeline for new gene therapy targets o Analyze, document, and present technical data and reports at team meetings Qualifications o B.S. with a minimum of 4+ years or M.S. with 1-3 years of relevant experience in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Virology or related discipline. o Mammalian cell culture techniques including cell line maintenance, plasmid transfection, viral transduction, and primary cell culture. o Experience with the use and optimization of plate based assays for cell viability, enzymatic activity, and/or biomarker validation. Luminescence reporter assay expertise strongly preferred. o Experience with molecular and biochemical methods including nucleic acid/protein extraction, RT-qPCR, PCR, Westerns, ELISA, and IF. ddPCR experience is a plus. o Familiarity with standard data analysis software (GraphPad Prism, ImageJ etc). o Demonstrates initiative and scientific independence through new project ideation and/or involvement in pipeline and platform critical endeavors. o Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. o Must be highly motivated, curious, and eager to learn/apply new skills. o Must function efficiently and problem solve in a fast-paced research environment.
