Senior Research Engineer/Chemist () – Iselin, NJ Where the Chemistry Happens We are searching for a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of catalyst components and systems as well as provide RD support for design and application of catalysts for environmental applications, with specific emphasis on diesel vehicle emission control catalysts. You will be using a variety of analytic and testing tools such as laboratory characterization apparatus, synthetic bench reactor and engine testing facilities. You will be a core catalyst design team member. The team works closely with other research and application engineering groups towards the development and application of new catalysts and new aftertreatment systems. There is also a strong collaboration with catalyst process development teams for the transfer of technology from research lab to commercial production. Qualifications – BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Formula for Success Leveraging your advanced educational background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanic Engineering or similar field of study, you will apply your knowledge across a breath of multiple related disciplines and work on developing customer-tailored catalyst component and system solutions. You prior experience and proven expertise in heterogenous catalysis or vehicle exhaust aftertreatment, especially in diesel emission catalyst field is highly valued. Your strong capability to drive innovation will be a valued asset as you generate ideas on how to achieve targets through your deep familiarity with multiple related disciplines, technologies, and processes. Working independently with minimal supervision, you will hypothesize, design experiments, interpret data, and draw conclusions. Your robust problem-solving ability will help you to address unique time sensitive problems with significant business risk. Successfully engaging across and outside the organization, you will interact frequently with colleagues as well as with customers, suppliers, consultants, universities, and government agencies. Serving as a role model, you will champion a Zero Incident mindset while maintaining a safe working environment.
