Janssen is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Cambridge, MA-based team and be part of a broader group including members in the Spring House, PA and La Jolla, CA campus focusing on adaptive immune mechanisms and pathways. The primary responsibility will be to actively engage in early discovery efforts by providing scientific leadership as well as designing and executing experiments to support Janssen Immunology discovery strategy. The candidate should have a PhD in Immunology, Molecular/Cell Biology or related field, and 3-5 years of itional experience. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and shape novel and ongoing drug discovery projects and demonstrated ability to independently design and implement experiments, interpret data and troubleshoot issues to lead, influence, or contribute to cross-functional teams in a global organization. People management including mentoring and managing direct reports is a key aspect for the position. Qualifications PhD in Immunology or Molecular/Cell Biology with a minimum of 3-5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience is required Previous mentoring and supervision of non-PhD level scientists is required. Experience with the design, execution, and analysis of in vitro and in/ex vivo approaches to dissect complex immune responses is required. Understanding of pathways and experience with molecular mechanisms related to autoimmune diseases such as SLE, Sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma and RA is preferred Experience with primary human immune cell functional assays is required. Desired skills include multicolor flow cytometry and experience in gene expression and or protein expression analysis. Track record of publications within immunology is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills to diverse audiences including scientific colleagues and leadership and an ability to provide fit-for-purpose communication in the context of a multidisciplinary team are required.
