SunIRef:Manu Job Description Job Title: Sport Scientist FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Athletic and Personal Development (APD) Position Summary: Delivery of sport science projects and best practices at IMG Academy Position Responsibilities Sport Science Delivery & Implementation Support the Head of Sport Science to build a sport science program at IMG Academy that delivers the company’s mission to help athletes realize their potential Under the direction of the Head of Sport Science, lead and deliver sport science projects Conduct projects, make interventions and interpret data in relation to athlete development and communicate findings to athletes, coaches and other support staff Assist in designing training programs to maximize development for athletes training at IMG Academy Monitoring and test athletes Educate and advise athletes and coaches on areas such as heart rate monitoring, recovery techniques, overtraining and acclimatization Team & Culture Collaborate with sport coaches and APD staff to drive continuous education and program improvement through sport science projects Work with sport coaches and APD to promote the merits of sport science Data & Technology Support the implementation of an athlete management system that supports the core business activities at IMG Academy and results in a systemized approach to data collection, analysis and implementation Lead data collection and analysis as directed by Head of Department Provide benchmark physiological information to enable long-term athletic development Keep up to date with ongoing research Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master’s degree or higher in sport science or related area (e.g. exercise physiology, biomechanics, anatomy, sports nutrition, sports medicine, etc.) Minimum of 2 years of sport science applied experience Knowledge of sports science and medicine disciplines and their impact on training and performance of elite athletes. The ability to analyze, organize and communicate data relevant to athlete development The ability to apply scientific ideas and principles to athlete development pathways Experience in conducting scientifically underpinned assessment, monitoring and evaluation procedures. Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization Ability and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues A superior work ethic Preferred Skills Knowledge of sport, technology and innovation Ability to perform sport science research and apply that research Experience with working with the developing athlete Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 pounds Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time Ability to move around large campus including gym, turf, fields, etc. Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays Background Requirements Requires a background check upon offer Requires a drug check upon offer Endeavor is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
