(S)QA Engineer Functional area: Quality Country: United States City: Charlotte, NC Company name: Atlas Copco Compressors LLC Date of posting: Mar 24, 2021 The Role In order to ensure continuous quality and to drive quality improvements from our distribution center, we are looking for a (Supplier) Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer that will play an active role in achieving the company’s mission of product leadership. The (S)QA Engineer will be responsible for improving the internal North American Service Center (NSC) quality, as well as the quality of our supplier’s delivery and production processes by evaluating, controlling, and optimizing processes, management systems and product quality. * Work proactively and independently to analyze quality and implement sustainable quality improvement programs and controls for Warehouse operation * Schedule and perform new Supplier approval audits, and qualification update audits with existing Suppliers, while working in collaboration with the buyers * Perform process audits at the supplier and at the NSC * Perform activities of controlling incoming material and reporting nonconformity to suppliers while working in collaboration with the inbound department. * Report and cooperate with Division as needed on overall improvements done * Internally investigate customer claims and link them to internal NSC or Supplier issues * Investigate and analyze claims and then develop projects to tackle the root-cause problems * Responsible for the Monthly PQM meeting to report quality improvements * Maintain Vendor Compliance Guidelines as outlined in the NSC Vendor Guide as needed * Develop and maintain reporting and databases in order to enforce requirements and change vendor behavior according to the NSC Vendor Guide * Work closely with cross-functional teams to support relevant activities related to reporting and general understanding of the Vendor Compliance process * Under minimum supervision, design, analyze, and create management reports/presentations and dashboards that assist senior leadership within the organization to help understand trends, variances, and opportunities * Proactively communicate and collaborate with multiple teams and directly with the department team members to gather required data needed to validate accuracy * Additional duties as assigned What we expect of you? * BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics Management and/or equivalent work experience. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint). * Advanced in Excel * SQL and power BI knowledge are pluses * Familiarity with quality management systems and mechanical inspection techniques is a plus * Experience in operating Cherry Pickers, stand up and sit-down forklifts is a plus * Strong analytical skills with the ability to immediately understand and proceed with the responsibilities of the position with minimal assistance. * Large volume data management skills required * Strong communication and presentation skills; able to communicate effectively in various levels of the organization, (i.e. large meeting facilitation, written and electronic communications) * Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple taska simultaneously * Thrives in building relationships with internal and external contacts * Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while influencing and motivating people with no direct authority * Hands-on mindset with solid technical and business knowledge * Strong understanding and ability to create and analyze performance metrics * Ability to build Access databases, and develop reports via Excel * Highly self-motivated with a passion for driving results and achieving success What you can expect from us? * An inviting, family-like atmosphere * New challenges and opportunities to learn every day * Opportunities for professional development * Outstanding company benefits We at Atlas Copco believe that there is always a better way.
