The Department of Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) is a critical part of the Discovery Sciences organization in Janssen R & D and is committed to the delivery of high-quality clinical candidates in all Therapeutic Area discovery teams. The Bioanalysis and Pharmacokinetics (BAPK) group within DMPK has diverse tasks covering in-house bioanalytical and pharmacokinetic support, study monitoring of internal and external in vivo ADME activities, and pharmacokinetic analysis. We are currently seeking an outstanding individual to join our team as a Senior Associate Scientist. The candidate will be a member of the BAPK group within the DMPK department. The work will focus on quantitation of drug candidates in complex biological matrices to support drug discovery. The candidate is expected to develop and conduct bioanalytical assays for small molecules in a fast paced and dynamic drug discovery environment. The candidate will prepare study reports, perform quality control on internally and externally produced bioanalytical and PK data, and communicate results to discovery project teams. The candidate is expected to show a strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Qualifications Required: B.S. with 7 years or M.S. with 5 years of relevant industry experience Practical knowledge and hands-on experience of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry Hands-on experience with quantitative analysis of small molecules in complex biological matrices such as plasma, serum, and tissue homogenates Hands-on experience with bioanalytical sample preparation skills, such as protein precipitation, solid phase extraction, and liquid-liquid extraction Knowledge and experience with bioanalysis method development and assay establishment Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral/written communication and teamwork skills Preferred: Experience with pharmacokinetic analysis and relevant computer software (Phoenix WinNonlin) Understanding of drug discovery, drug ADME and pharmacokinetics Ability to solve technical issues with minimal supervision Johnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
