Job Description Senior System Validation Engineer Navigation, Electric Vehicle HMI, Virtual Switches At General Motors, we are building on our momentum and are changing the way we do things. We are seeking experienced, motivated engineers to support the next generation of industry-leading Interior Systems. About the System Feature Validation Role: As a Feature Validation Engineer, you will be responsible to develop and implement vehicle level test procedures. Specific end to end validation that you will be responsible for include: – Navigation – Electric Vehicle HMI – Virtual Switches HMI – Performance Data Recorder – Other features as needed This position involves responsibility for validation activities throughout a vehicles lifecycle including: – Definition of testing requirements – Coordination of vehicle test time with software deliveries – Execution of end to end vehicle level validation – Analysis of Captured Test Fleet and JD Power issues found This role requires an experienced engineer to lead and drive a cross-functional Feature Validation team including collaboration with the following groups: – Feature Validation Test Engineers – System Design Engineers – Design Release Engineers – Vehicle Validation Engineers – Program Managers Additional Job Description Education Required: – Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (IT, Cybersecurity) Experienced Required: – 5 or more years of experience with developing and executing technical solutions for electrical / mechanical components to support new vehicle programs – Demonstrated technical and professional skills in validation of a production intent product – An understanding of in-vehicle networking protocols such as CAN and associated tools and techniques – High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex – High level of oral and written communication skills – Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals – This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis Preferred Skills: – Experience in validating end to end connected navigation systems – Experience with modeling manual and automated test procedures simulating CAN network messaging – Experience with managing test tool properties – Experience with advanced infotainment systems and technologies (Embedded Navigation, OnStar Turn by Turn, SMS and Packet communications) – Experience with Global A and Global B vehicle architectures and PC to Vehicle Interface and Remote Data Logging System. – Experience with CANalyser, CAPL Scripting and Vector Tools – Knowledge of the navigation functionality and requirements – Demonstrated technical and professional skills to launch a product using various wireless technologies (GSM, CDMA, LTE, etc.). – Familiarity with embedded systems software and hardware design and implementation Benefits Overview The goal of the General Motors total rewards program is to support the health and well-being of you and your family.
