Testing Research Associate Lead YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role, Testing Research Associate Lead, are to: – Lead and enable a team across the testing area to deliver planning, protocol execution of trialing/seed production protocols yielding, and quality data sets; – Be accountable for team development and establishing a culture of collaboration; – Work with key partners to manage cooperator/third-party grower relations; – Participate in Account Planning meetings with key area partners; – Help develop and maintain a team culture of continuous improvement through workstream evaluation, ideas sharing, innovation, and technology adoption; – Collaborate closely with scientists and key partners to ensure testing team delivers appropriate data package per crop and that the data is stored in appropriate company-approved databases for area; – Organize and help execute priorities of the team while leveraging resources in the area to deliver on testing objectives; – Work collaboratively to prioritize workload appropriately for area testing team; – Help establish KPI and metrics to guide decision-making and prioritization in a proactive manner; – Lead operation of research and data collection equipment as needed; – Seek proactively and communicate broader business objectives and key messages to their team; – Provide and receive feedback for development of self and others (direct reports, peers, partner, people leader, etc.); – Ensure that critical conversations, coaching, and development planning are happening with their team; – Apply proper planning tools to manage tasks such as capacity request and management, calendarization of activities from planting to harvest, and tracking of performance metrics; – Ensure compliance with Worker Protection Standards (WPS), as well as Bayer safety guidelines and housekeeping practices, compliance with regulatory policies and local governmental requirements; – Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties regardless of mileage. WHO YOU ARE Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: – Bachelors degree with at least seven years of experience OR Masters Degree with at least five years of experience; – Knowledge and experience with agricultural equipment and/or crops production practices and history of leveraging that knowledge in a research environment; – Demonstrated experience in management of people and/or projects, leading teams and managing contracts; – Demonstrated abilities to develop project plans, analyze and interpret data; – Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-based environment; – Manages multiple projects and priorities; – Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to effectively achieve business results; – Capacity to communicate and work effectively with all management levels in a multi-cultural organization; – Be able to work extended hours during peak operational seasons; – Up to 25% local travel and up to 40% during peak seasons. – Valid Drivers License; Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the companys Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers. Preferred Qualifications: – Preferred area of studies to include: Horticulture, Agronomy or related field.
