Job Overview
As a Quality Engineer Stamping, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving product quality within a high-volume stamping operation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your ability to pivot between data analysis, problem-solving, and customer interactions will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain quality control processes within the stamping department, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality concerns.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to develop and refine process controls that enhance product consistency.
Utilize statistical process control (SPC) tools to monitor and improve quality metrics.
Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO and other quality management system (QMS) standards.
Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain documentation related to quality procedures, inspection protocols, and reporting.
Train and support team members in best practices for quality assurance and process improvements.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Proven experience in quality engineering, preferably within a stamping or metal forming environment.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar standards.
Proficiency in SPC, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies (8D, Six Sigma, etc.).
Experience with PPAP, FMEA, and other automotive or manufacturing quality tools.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification.
Experience with automated inspection systems and measurement technologies.
Background in working with automotive or aerospace industry standards.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
