The responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for working with supervisors, leads, and other Material Specialists to ensure safe and quality operations while meeting operational goals.
Work effectively and efficiently in a team-oriented environment to keep Materials Operations running smoothly and identify opportunities to improve procedures/operations.
Responsibilities include ensuring internal and external compliance (GMP, GLP, DOT, HazMat, etc.).
Adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Effectively executing the Supervisors and Leads directives.
Prioritizing and facilitating area tasks and daily customer requests.
Troubleshooting operational errors and monitoring operations.
Following up on the facility/process/specialists' needs.
Interacting with other departments to achieve goals, and acting as the liaison between the area Warehouse Specialists and Supervisors.
Respond to customer inquiries via gChat, email, phone, and in person.
Prevent interruptions to customer processes by ensuring delays due to warehouse operations are minimized.
Attend departmental meetings as scheduled.
Serve as the main contact between customers and warehouse staff. Effectively represent the area to resolve issues with customers.
Be adaptive to changing priorities and responsibilities in all areas of Materials Operations.
Effectively multi-task the daily workload with assigned projects.
Routinely recognize and troubleshoot quality issues and follow up with solutions.

Through cross-training, become proficient in the procedures and operations of other Materials Operations groups.
Seek out and participate in process improvement initiatives for warehouse functions, equipment, or procedures, utilizing internal and external contacts and resources.
Ensure daily tasks are being completed accurately.
Ensure that incoming materials paperwork is correct and materials are received in good condition.
Prepare receiving documents.
Observe proper handling/storage/temperature requirements of materials.
Pack materials for proper delivery conditions.
Independently follow procedures and train others in all aspects of procedures.
Clearly understands the importance of accurate documentation.
Follow required safety procedures by using available safety equipment and participate in the safety awareness and training of staff.
Provide routine updates to Supervisors and leads on progress, status, and issues associated with the department. d
Participate in projects and as needed deliver presentations to a diverse audience.
Actively participate in the development of departmental goals.
Engage in continuous feedback activities with supervisor including providing feedback when asked, soliciting constructive criticism, and initiating career development discussions.
Demonstrate the ability to work in a diverse environment with respect and professionalism.
Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Complete workload, assigned duties, and back-up tasks on time.
Maintain equipment and work areas for cleanliness.
Understand and demonstrate proficiency with material handling equipment and relevant computer applications.
Train for PIT and understand safety and demonstrate proficiency.
Ensure that all work is completed by the end of the day. Utilize time wisely to maximize productivity.
Meet timeline commitments and inform others as necessary.
Adhere to appropriate laws, GNE regulations and programs, and DOT compliance.

Ensure that prior to performing duties, training is updated and compliant with regulations.
Meet all compliance requirements for training and complete training records and certifications in a timely manner.
Adhere to a professional dress code. Uniform should be worn when interacting with customers.
Report damages to Genentech property or vehicles in a timely manner.
Provide training for new personnel in area signed off in.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
College-level coursework preferred.
Material handling and/or warehousing experience required.
Passion for continuous process improvement. LEAN or other Operational Excellence training and experience are a plus.
Possess effective time management and organizational skills, ability to work independently, and demonstrate strong customer service skills.
Must possess good problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Must communicate clearly and effectively.
Must have strong initiative and focus on safety, quality, accuracy, and be detail oriented.
Knowledge of safe chemical handling is helpful.
Must possess a valid California driver s license with clean driving record; Class B and HazMat endorsement preferred.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
Commit to working 40 hours per week and overtime as needed.
