Summary:
Lab technician with a technical degree and strong background in Robotics and/or Optical Imaging with interest in learning both.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Supporting day-to-day research across the RL-R sensors team.
  • Owning lab spaces and associated lab instruments, including robot arms, calibration stations, and benchtop optical setups.
  • Performing lab experiments under the guidance of researchers.
  • Working with optics and robots (there are prototypes this person will be working on)
  • Sensors and research team with RL-R, anything that touches cameras within products.
  • Key research directions will be custom image sensors, custom compute sensors (no AI focus on this but slightly), sensing systems within robotics like humanoid (exploring sensing solutions for this platform), photonics which is more research on high spectrum imaging or polarization imagining and optics and surfaces.

 
Qualifications:

  • BS in technical field (Engineering, Robotics, CS, Physics, Math, etc). MS or PhD preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in either robotics or imaging systems.
  • 3+ years programming experience in Python / C++ / Rust. Familiar with fundamental optics.

 
Desired Skills:

  • Hands-on optics experience and programming skills (python)
  • Needs automation experience
  • RUST is a newer language but a plus if they have this
  • C++ experience

 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $45.00 – $52.95/hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, 10 paid days off, 401(k) plan participation, commuter benefits and life and disability insurance.
