Development Chemist – Kickstart Your Career in Innovation

At Saint-Gobain Exterior Solutions (SGES), we're looking for a Development Chemist to join our R&D team in Kilwaughter. This is your chance to be part of a team that develops innovative products shaping the future of construction – from advanced renders to cutting-edge coatings.

What you'll be doing

As part of our collaborative R&D team, you'll:

Work closely with experienced chemists to support new product development and improvements.
Get involved in taking ideas from the lab right through to full-scale production.
Assist with customer technical support, data preparation, and product approvals.
Learn how to run lab projects, analyse results, and present your findings.
Gain exposure at trade shows, trials, and cross-functional meetings.No two days will be the same – you'll balance lab work, problem-solving, and real-world application.

What we're looking for

You don't need years of experience – just enthusiasm, curiosity, and a strong foundation in science:

A BSc (or higher) in a scientific discipline – ideally with a focus on materials science.
A keen interest in research, product development, and problem-solving.
Confidence with data (Excel skills a plus!) and a willingness to learn new tools.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
Flexibility and a can-do attitude – sometimes things move fast, and that's part of the fun.A driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally will also help you make the most of this role.
