The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a variety of microbiology functions under minimal supervision. These functions include:
" Microbiological Sampling and Testing
" Environmental Monitoring
" Microbial Plate Counting
" Sample Management: including receipt and shipment of samples
" General Lab Support: housekeeping, monitoring and maintaining lab supplies inventory
" Documentation of all activities according to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and internal SOP s
Essential Functions
" Perform sample collection and testing of environmental surface/air and utilities.
" Use a wide variety of sophisticated equipment with responsibility for operation, maintenance,
and daily calibration check (if appropriate).
" Prepare documentation of all laboratory work in accordance with cGMPs and SOPs, as
appropriate.
" Ensure all laboratory work is conducted in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
" Maintain inventory of all laboratory chemicals and consumables.
" Maintain sample submission area as well as shipment of samples to external laboratories.
Requirements
Bachelor s in Biology/Microbiology or equivalent discipline. Preferred candidates will also have
appropriate experience (typically 0 3 years), OR Associate degree or High School Diploma with
appropriate equivalent experience (typically 3 + years)
Preferred Requirements
" Knowledge and experience with analytical and microbiological techniques.
" Knowledge of cGMPs and laboratory safety.
" Experience working in a cGMP laboratory.
" Experience with aseptic sample collection and microbial testing.
" Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
