We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to lead inspection activities and ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, delivery, and compliance. This role oversees QC Inspectors in both General Shop and Continuous departments, driving process efficiency, team accountability, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor QC Inspectors, ensuring proficiency in inspection techniques and consistent adherence to quality standards.
- Set clear goals, communicate daily priorities, and drive a strong sense of urgency to keep inspections aligned with production schedules.
- Streamline in-process inspections to improve efficiency and minimize production downtime.
- Establish accountability across the inspection team by monitoring performance, providing coaching, and recognizing high performers.
- Proactively address potential quality escapes through disciplined inspection practices, effective corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Take ownership of Returned Material Authorization (RMA) requests, Engineering Review (ER) issues, and customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop, implement, and enforce SOPs and work instructions for inspections, equipment use, and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, data, and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Production to resolve issues, maintain schedule adherence, and ensure quality work is delivered on time.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and compliance with company and departmental policies.
- Participate in audits, problem-solving initiatives, and process improvement projects to elevate overall performance.
- Champion safety and environmental compliance within inspection operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience leading inspection teams in a manufacturing environment (metal finishing or aerospace strongly preferred).
- Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated success in driving accountability, productivity, and performance improvements within inspection teams.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage conflict constructively and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical specification review.
- Skilled in data analysis, root cause problem-solving, continuous improvement methodologies, and internal audit processes.
- Experience drafting and maintaining technical documentation to support QMS.
- Flexibility to support extended hours and multiple shifts as business needs require.
