Job Description:

Pay Range: $50hr – $57hr

  • The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will perform complex clinical tests and analyses following established procedures and policies.
  • The role requires technical expertise in laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform moderate to highly complex clinical tests in accordance with laboratory procedures and policies.
  • Conduct newly introduced tests requiring specialized skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare and oversee reagents, media, stock solutions, standards, and controls.
  • Test and evaluate new reagents or controls based on established criteria.
  • Determine specimen acceptability according to testing procedures.
  • Calculate results using manual or computerized methods and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Evaluate analyses for accuracy prior to report release and adhere to turnaround time standards.
  • Take appropriate actions in response to critical or unusual results and document actions taken.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory instruments.
  • Conduct instrument performance checks, linearity, accuracy, and precision evaluations.
  • Perform Quality Control procedures and ensure calibration results meet acceptance criteria.
  • Select and evaluate control materials; initiate corrective actions when test systems deviate from standards.
  • Accurately perform and record proficiency testing.
  • Detect and resolve technical and operational problems; collaborate with supervisors and technical support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and labeling of reagents and laboratory supplies.
  • Ensure laboratory safety and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Participate actively in staff and quality improvement meetings.
  • Support training and supervision of unlicensed staff, ensuring compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing new testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies regarding safety, environmental, and infection control practices.
  • Dispose of waste properly and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all laboratory operations.
  • Pursue continuing education to meet professional and state licensure requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Experience:

  • 0 3 years of direct experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong typing and data entry skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation systems preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Qualification And Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Medical Technology or Life/Physical Sciences from an accredited institution (Required).
