Position Description
As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for obtaining and analyzing samples of incoming and outgoing natural gas, rainwater, and process water. Your work will support various facilities, including Stratton Ridge, Docks, Pre-Treatment, Liquification, Underground Storage, and Storage & Trucking. You will report your findings to the Process Engineer/Gas Controller and collaborate with Operations and Maintenance for non-routine analysis.
Essential Functions & Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory analyses, sampling, record keeping, and reporting.
- Operate and maintain gas chromatographs and other laboratory instruments.
- Analyze samples for inventory management and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain product samples and coordinate third-party laboratory services.
- Keep detailed laboratory records using various systems.
- Participate in ISO certification and regulatory audits.
- Monitor laboratory consumables and manage laboratory waste pick-up.
- Comply with all safety, environmental, and health requirements.
- Attend safety meetings and follow life-saving rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by facility supervision.
Key Relationships
- Internal: Close collaboration with Production Planning Manager, Operations Shift Supervisor, Regulatory Compliance Officer, IT Specialists, HSE Specialist, and Process Engineer/Gas Controller.
- External: Interaction with outside laboratories and contractors/equipment vendors.
HSE Roles and Responsibilities
Support our Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System by actively participating in policies and programs. Ensure HSE concerns are prioritized in all activities and implement routine inspections for safe operations.
Working Conditions and Physical Expectations
- Work in an industrial plant environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Use standard office and field communications equipment.
- Physically active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Ability to lift and move items over 50 pounds.
- Possess specific vision abilities and the ability to enter confined spaces and work at elevated heights.
- Must have the ability to drive to other company work locations as required.
