Job Description
Scientist – Microbiology Method Development
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Preparing and performing bacteriological and mycology testing and on various materials and matrices following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and in accordance with test guidelines.
- Routine inspection and performance verification of laboratory equipment, media, and microorganisms.
- Ability to develop and write microbiology SOPs for use in GLP studies, including experience working with quality teams in training and audits of microbiological studies.
- Record data and results accurately and legibly on all documents.
- Technical report writing including text, tables, graphs, and diagrams.
- Follow and perform process qualifications and validations for procedures and/or equipment.
- Executes projects as assigned, demonstrates ability to adapt to changing laboratory needs and requirements
- Serves as point of contact for internal and external customers.
- Provides guidance and training to technical staff on the proper conduct of study assignments.
- Performs data analysis, first level and peer review of data.
- Works with independence on studies and assignments following training and approval to perform.
- Practices proper sterility procedures, including handling and disposal of samples and biohazardous waste.
