Overview:
Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer Description & Duties:
The Senior QA Automation Engineer is responsible for building robust automation frameworks using Cypress and Cucumber BDD, ensuring test coverage for applications, and improving continuous integration and delivery processes. They demonstrate expertise in test-driven development (TDD), performance testing, security testing, and best practices in automation, while also mentoring team members and contributing to the overall quality engineering strategy.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities included the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated test strategies for applications using Cypress and Cucumber BDD.
- Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks to support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Drive the adoption of best practices in test automation, ensuring high-quality standards are met across all projects.
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, providing training, reviewing test scripts, and ensuring consistency in automation approaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product owners, and DevOps to ensure seamless integration of automated tests into the software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate and introduce new testing tools and technologies to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Conduct performance testing and security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure system stability.
- Design test cases and strategies to validate functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and provide root cause analysis for issues found in automation execution.
- Contribute to product roadmaps by providing insights into potential risks, test coverage gaps, and quality improvements.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar relevant field; 5 years of relevant experience as a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, Software Engineer, or Software Development Engineer in Test is desirable OR combination of education and experience.

Any certifications related to automated testing tools or Agile methodologies are a plus.
- Ability to effectively present information to management.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Development Skills
- Functional knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with Cypress and Cucumber is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
- Knowledge of database concepts for a SQL or NoSQL database.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
